Cozy Embroidery

Lately I have really been into the details of clothing trends. On my Valentine’s Day post, I had a dress with such sweet and delicate details, and since then, I’ve gotten two more detailed items that I just love. Embroidered clothes have been a new favorite of mine lately. I think the stitching and design is just SO pretty! Below are two of my new embroidered sweaters that I cannot get enough of!

This CALIstyle Kissed By A Rose Sweatshirt is from Shop Resurrection.
I adore these colors and design. This sweatshirt is cropped with the roses only down the left arm which makes it super unique in my opinion. It also has a raw edge hem around the bottom and on the sleeves which gives it some character. Of the two sweaters, this one is a little more lightweight, so I can probably wear it for more of the year!

Side note: The way they package their items and send them to you is adorable!

I came across this Floral Embroidered Crop Top while out shopping with my friend Patience at Forever 21 and fell in love with the soft spring colors on the sleeves.
This top has SUPER soft fleece inside and a raw cut bottom too! This sweater is one of my coziest sweaters, which makes me so happy because I can wear it all the time- especially in this cold weather.

ALSO! These ultra stretch high waisted skinny jeans and strappy block heel sandals are both from JustFab! I know I talk about them all the time on my Instagram, but I ADORE their stuff! (Ps: follow me on instagram! @shaylakelsee)

I hope you all love this trend as much as I do!

Our Valentine’s Anniversary

I hated Valentine’s Day before I met Nick, which is part of the reason why our anniversary falls on the day before. Nick understood that I was not a fan of giant teddy bears and chocolate hearts, so the day we started dating was February 13th. But now that I have fallen in love with Nick, I understand the whole Valentine’s Day hype. It’s special and fun and sweet! (Pun intended)

So since 2 romantic days happen to be back to back for us, we have a lot of fun with it. This year we both ended up giving each other gifts and notes earlier in February in anticipation of the celebration. Everyday from February 1st to 14th, Nick had given me a small gift and a piece of a picture to piece together as clues to a surprise and for the whole week leading up to Valentine’s Day, I had given him a silly card with a sweet note. This was so special for us, especially with our busy schedules, because it’s hard to find time to really go out and celebrate. Plus, it’s the little things in life isn’t it?

The main thing I wanted to show here though, is our looks for our Valentine’s Anniversary breakfast! We had so much fun dressing up and taking pictures on Saturday and I wanted to brag just a little bit about this dress I discovered at ASOS!

I just adore the details of this dress SO much. I searched online for a week for a dress that I could wear in the cold February weather that was also still light and pretty. The dainty dots and stitching makes this dress so sweet looking. I also have loved the low V neck with a high neck wrap look that’s been so popular lately and this is a similar, but more creative and detailed version of that. I ordered this on 2 day shipping (ASOS has a $19/year 2-day shipping deal right now!) and it came in a day and a half, just like I hoped! (:
PS- ASOS has a lot of different brands- which provides a wide variety of styles!

Nick got this tie and sock set for Christmas and it was the perfect time to wear it! His socks even have little hearts. (:

There’s just something so fun about dressing up together and making whatever we’re doing feel special. I’m so glad he allows me to be a fashion geek and even joins me in it!

Hope you all had a beautiful and sweet Valentine’s Day!

Fall Fashion (& Sunriver!)

I had one of the coziest trips last weekend with my family and I honestly wish I was still laying around intentionally relaxing and doing close to nothing. My parents and sister and brother-in-law and their kids and my brother and his girlfriend and Nick all stayed in a big house together and ate the best meals ever. My grandparents also joined for a couple days which was so special!

Of course while we were there, Nick and I did a little fall shoot which we started at the house and then went to the high desert museum. People who know me best know how much I adore fashion and clothes in general so it always seems fitting to take some pictures of my favorite outfits. And people who know me really well know that I basically only ever online shop with the intention of getting the best deals (and not having to waste gas and leave my bed). I don’t think a day goes by that I’m not looking at clothes online honestly. This outfit as a whole cost under $100 and that’s just the way I roll. I wear these pants at least once a week because they are SO comfortable. I really appreciate comfort when it comes to fashion and not to mention they are thick enough to stay warm and they fit like a glove!

I also couldn’t wait to show you something that Nick and I started this weekend! I ordered 2 books for Nick and I as we approach marriage in 8 short months. 31 Prayers for my future wife/husband is such a neat devotional! The book walks you through 31 different prayers to pray for your future spouse. After you read the author’s prayers, there is space to write your own. Nick and I took these books out on the porch of the house where we were staying, turned on the fire, and side by side read and prayed for each other. It was such a special time and it has stretched my understanding of marriage even more. And the great weather and cozy fire was such a bonus too.
